What CustomerOS keeps about a call.
CustomerOS is phone support for a Shopify store. This page describes the information the app uses so a team can call a customer, answer a store call, and leave a note.
From Shopify
When a store installs the app, CustomerOS can read customers and orders, and write a note back to an order. That includes:
- The shop domain and the staff member using the app
- Customer name, email, and phone number
- Order number and the order details shown during a call
Calls and notes
CustomerOS stores the call itself: direction, time, duration, the number used, and the note your team writes. A note is saved on the customer and, when the call was about an order, added to that order in Shopify.
The store line is the number customers see. That number is provisioned for the shop and kept with the shop record.
Who else handles a call
Voice calls are connected through Twilio. A store number may be ordered through Telnyx. Those providers receive the phone numbers and call details needed to place or receive the call. CustomerOS does not sell customer or call data.
How long it stays
Call history stays so the next shift can see who called and what was agreed. Uninstalling the app in Shopify stops new access to the store. When Shopify asks us to erase a customer, we remove that person’s name, email, phone, call notes, and recording. When Shopify asks us to erase a shop, the shop record and its call history are deleted.
